Thanks so much Katie!
Of course that inspired me to collect some of my favorite images for a post! I was familiar with some of his design work already, but I also discovered that he has several collaborative products on the market (perhaps I am the last to know). Here are a few highlights of his work, with a sprinkling of my favorite product picks:
I don't think this space could get any cozier!
I was really drawn to these rich colors.
I thought this was a nice blending of woods and marble for a unique look.
I liked the unique look of this planter, especially the handles.
You probably could have guessed that I would be all over this tribal rug!
I always love a potrack in a hard working kitchen.
I have been loving antiqued mirrors lately (keeping my eyes open at the markets too!).
I love the more tailored look of this one.
Awesome day bed.
Sleek lines and nailhead. Nice.
My all time favorite of his work.
I already posted about this very special bathroom when I posted about mosaics.

I've been thinking about Spanish Design a lot lately...in fact I'll be posting about it tomorrow. This rug would be perfect in a mediterranean-inspired home. Don't miss the greek key detailing - love that.
Amazing flooring and windows...love that chair too.
Love this color combo and pattern...
Did I touch on any favorites for you?
Congratulations on your win! As for look I would take any one of these, love that last carpet.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning! I always wondered if people really win :) I love the antique mirror and that bathroom is so different, especially with the round table in the mirror! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteSo many great spaces--Michael Smith's bathrooms and "male" spaces are perfection. Congratulations on winning MS's new book. (I won Katie's give away a few months ago and I'm still on Cloud 9) Mary
ReplyDeleteBarbara...lucky you! It looks like a great book, well deserved. Love all the beauties above but especially that gorgeous planter, would love two of those..beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAll the images are beautiful. I love the kitchen with marble mixed with wood, the fabulous daybed, the bath, in other words, all of them. Smith also has a diffuser fragrance for Agraria that is one of my favorites.

I did a post on him a long time ago, but I've never seen any of these images! They really make me want to buy his book. Congrats on your win!

I love a good win...congratulations!! I had never heard of this designer so I appreciate the introduction.
ReplyDeleteHe's new to me as well. Lovely style! My absolute favorite is that massive marble slab sitting on the wooden island!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning that book.
ReplyDeleteMichael S Smith is really one talented designer and his clients are the creme de la creme of society who can afford to splurge to achieve amazing spaces for their home.
We just received our copy, too, and love everything Michael does. His use of textures and the clients' own furnishings mixed into his style makes every home he does unique. Congratulations on winning!

P.S. The orchid on the cover is ours (Michael is a long-time client!)
Lucky you!! He is just so talented!! Even though I have seen some of these projects before, there seems to be enough new material to warrant the purchase!
