Sophistication in NYC: Donna Karan's Manhattan Apartment

You may recall my post about art from earlier this week.  A fellow Pinterest devotee recently noticed one of those stuning pieces on my board and directed me to the remainder of this amazing apartment, belonging to the talented Donna Karan.  (Thanks Scott!)  I was blown away, so I wanted to share it with all of you!

Her apartment is very minimalist, but the incredible photography and other earthy, zen-like elements warm it up.  Not everyone would want to live here, but I found the interiors (not to mention the stunning views!) fascinating, unique and alluring.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Amazing photography!

A daily massage would be one luxury I would definitely allow myself!

Love the horizontally stacked books.

No curtains?  Hmmm...

  1. This is a gorgeous home, Barbara. It's one of those spaces that I appreciate for it's stunning details, but could never call 'home'. I admire the artwork, the sculpture, the views and the perfect simplicity of its design aesthetic.
Thanks for sharing, Barbara, and have a lovely weekend!

  3. I love this space and I understand and honor an individual who can clear her focus and attention to this degree. However, I'm not there quite yet and I need a few more curves and a place to be messy. Thanks for the great post--it just so happens that today I'm clearing out and throwing out the unnecessary --what perfect inspiration. Perhaps, I should go back and take a second look! Mary

  4. Her apartment is sleek and sophisticated, like her clothing. As for the window behind the bathtub, if you look at the ceiling there seems to be an opening. I would guess there is a shade that covers the window using a remote switch.

  7. While not my taste it's a gorgeous apartment and very calm and peaceful. She has some great pieces of artwork but that bathroom....she's right across from other windows, I would need some drapes!

    Enjoy your Sunday!
