An Enchanted Garden

I don't usually do garden posts.  I have a black thumb, pulling weeds makes me very grumpy, and I am just plain not into it.  However, my sister keeps insisting that gardening is just like interior design, only with natural elements.  You still have to consider texture, color, shape, size, etc...  You know what?  She's right!

Even though it gives me a headache to do yardwork, I do love/appreciate/enjoy a beautiful garden, so here are a few elements that I find particularly magical:

Water features...

Potted fruits...
(ahem, notice that I am drawn to hot weather fruits that are impossible to grow in the Pacific NW!)

  1. Gorgeous post!!!!! For someone who has a "black thumb' you get a blue ribbon for putting together and recognizing such exquisite outdoor spaces. Just stunning!

  4. My enchanted garden would be a combination of all of the above, tended and cared for by someone other than myself! I hear you about the weeds and have a battle to wage over the weekend. Hope you have a wonderful one!

  7. Love the pics of the potted citrus...how do they get them to look so healthy...mine never look like that...as usual always beautiful images. I swear our minds run in the same cycle. You do a post that I already have in my docket...but you always do it so much better!!

  8. We saw so many gorgeous gardens in Italy last month! One after another! Your pictures are equally wonderful and I agree with your sister. I don't do nearly as much as I used to, because it kills my back, but I find pruning to be almost therapeutic! Hopefully you have a mature garden and a good gardener. Lots of plants love your climate!

  9. These are beautiful! So much inspiration here. I am trying to learn to be better at planning my garden instead of everything being so willy nilly. These will be great reference pictures!
