I had such a great experience on Saturday afternoon. We had a friend in town and we ended up going to the Chihuly Museum of Garden and Glass. I have long been a fan of Washington-born Dale Chihuly, but this museum blew.me.away. It was such a beautiful experience I just had to share it with all of you!
Take a look at a few of the pieces that we saw:
His time spent growing up around Puget Sound influences his sea-inspired and native american work.
Many of the installations were set in natural settings, reflective of his inspirations.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. If you ever get to Seattle, don't miss this museum!
WOW! This is amazing, what a total work of art, I am in awe! Have a great day....
ReplyDeleteWow for sure! I've never been there, Barbara, but it is now definitely on my list of 'must see' places. I love beautiful glass and this is different than anything I've ever seen before. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Barbara!! My mom took my boys and me to see the Chihuly exhibit when it was at the Dallas Arboretum. We were all blown away. Such a talent and you are so lucky to have it there in Seattle!!
ReplyDeleteHappy new week!
xoxo Elizabeth
What an artist and a happy exhibition! We saw it when it came to the NY Botanical Gardens and even our sons were blown away by his talent. Hope you have a great week!

Barbara I have been fortunate to see two of his exhibitions - one at the Phoenix Art Museum and the other at the Desert Botanical Garden also in Phoenix. Both were so amazingly beautiful and it was lovely to see his work again on your blog. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou know I would die there! GORGEOUS! I love seeing the work of talented artists.

Hi Barbara - You know, I still haven't made it down to the Chihuly Museum yet. You are inspiring me to make sure we make an afternoon of it soon. He was a patient of my Dad's and bartered some dental work with a very, very early piece of his years and years ago - you would never recognize it as his!
ReplyDeleteWe are home. I'm starting to come up for air. I'd love to catch up with you one of these days - maybe that long postponed Red Ticking visit?
Hope all is well! XOXO
Hello Ms. Barbara,
ReplyDeleteI am embarrased to say that I have never been! But one of these days..
But first coffee with you - because I have not seen you for 15 about - hmm... 15 years!! (:
Hope all is well. Thinking of you.
Happy Memorial weekend!
