A Bohemian Lifestyle

Hello all!  So glad you liked my post on a Bachelor Pad the other day.  I actually cobbled it together from a variety of sources - unfortunately that one doesn't exist all under one (probably penthouse) roof.  But, wouldn't it be lovely if it did???!!  Perhaps that design project is just around the corner for me...:)

For today's post I am going to depart from my normal - albeit already eclectic - style and serve up a few lovely Bohemian settings.  All of these caught  my eye.  Maybe my wanderlust (more on that coming soon) is drawing me toward more of a gypsy-lifestyle inspired home.  Not sure.  Whatever it is, I'm enjoying it and thought I'd pass it along for a breath of fresh air!  Enjoy...

Today I'm Loving...

...metal four poster beds!  One of the things we haven't worked on yet in our  new house is our master bedroom.  We are in the market for a new bed, and since we have existing dressers that are wood, I'm liking the idea of a contrasting material for the bed.  If you have the right room for it, I like the bold statement that a four poster bed makes and the metal can give it a refreshing twist on the traditional style.

Sadly, my husband dislikes four poster beds, so it probably won't be happening, but I'm still thinking he might change his mind.  :)  Regardless, I thought I'd share a few of my favorites:

Not 100% sure that is metal, but you get the idea.  :)

elegant pale earthy tones... love it

A mix of wood and metal would also be nice...

Happy July, by the way.  :)

Horchow Cart Giveaway - WOW!

I got an email today for an awesome giveaway on Horchow.com that I thought I'd share with all of you. You can put up to $15,000 worth of items in your cart between now and May 7, and on May 8 one lucky winner will win ALL of the stuff in their cart! How cool is that?

(Yes, I'm aware that I'm reducing my chances by sharing this information, but I wanted to pass it along to all of you awesome followers!  :))

In case you're interested, here is what is in my cart:

I normally wouldn't pick something lavendar, but I thought this was lovely.
If I won, I'd find a way to incorporate some lavendar in my master, with two chairs to match!

For my new family room, please...

I thought these were pretty, but with an edge...

We are in the market for a new headboard/footboard.  This isn't exactly what I want, but close.  And if the price was right...

Wouldn't this be beautiful in a bath with perfume bottles, or for a patio party?

You know I went crazy for this greek key lamp!

A little sweet simplicity for my kitchen counters perhaps?

Our dining room table got broken in the move so this would come in handy.
(We do get compensated for it but I'm still searching for the perfect one.  This one expands for larger groups - love that flexibility!)

I can always find a spot - inside or outside - for a lovely stool like this one!

Gorgeous!

This was such a fun virtual shopping spree...and who knows...someone has to win!
I was kind of shocked how quickly I could rack up $15K in merchandise, but I'm sure that wouldn't surprise my husband one bit.  :)

Have fun with it and good luck!

Ottoman Empire

Hi Everyone!  Happy Wednesday to you all...things are moving along here at home and I'm having fun starting to round out the house with furniture pieces I have had my eye on for a long time.  I just ordered these ottomans from Wisteria.  I can't wait to see them in person!

Woven Leather Folding Stool

I'm planning to use them in the living room in front of the fireplace, but I think they''ll also be great at the foot of the bed in our master, in the entry, or separated throughout the house. I think they'll be great for additional seating at parties, and kids love sitting on them too! Can you tell I love versatile pieces? :)  These are a few rooms that inspired me to add these to my home:

Windsor Smith

They add a hint (or more) of style tucked under a sofa table when not in use.
Love the greek key detailing of course!

Such an intriguing mix of Asian and African design here...

Love this look next to a luxurious bath.  Can you tell I really like zebra ottomans?  More to come.

Great in an entry and an easy way to store them in a smaller space.  This table may be high end but I spy a pretty easy IKEA DIY table here...

Zebra, nailhead and that great finish on the legs?  Yum.

One of my favorite rooms of all time...especially the sofa table and ottomans.

So what do you think of this versatile piece?
