(More) Intriguing Spaces

I love it when I come across a unique space.  Even if it's not necessarily what I'd choose for myself, it may be perfect for a client looking for a one-of-a-kind design.  These spaces do exactly that.  Enjoy!

You may have noticed that all of these have true statement art.
I think that adds a level of sophistication that can't be beat.
My advice:  Buy one of a kind art (available at every price point) that speaks to you!

Thanks so much for reading.

Stunning Chihuly Glass!

Hi Everyone...hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Today's post isn't related to interior design, but it is certainly related to beautiful design.

I had such a great experience on Saturday afternoon.  We had a friend in town and we ended up going to the Chihuly Museum of Garden and Glass.  I have long been a fan of Washington-born Dale Chihuly, but this museum blew.me.away.  It was such a beautiful experience I just had to share it with all of you!

Take a look at a few of the pieces that we saw:

His time spent growing up around Puget Sound influences his sea-inspired and native american work.

Many of the installations were set in natural settings, reflective of his inspirations.

I hope you enjoyed the tour.  If you ever get to Seattle, don't miss this museum!

A Shock Of Great Art

A room really comes alive with something unexpected.  These rooms let a unique piece of art do all the talking, which I find so appealing!

Have a great weekend!

So Cool!

A few random things today due to my new best friend Pinterest!  Is it possible to be more addicted to Pinterest than blogs??  That has been on my mind lately but more about that later.  Anyway, these are things that are fresh ideas, unique or just plain beautiful.  I hope they inspire you as they have me.  Enjoy!

Oro

I took a very special trip to Peru with my Dad a few years ago and I am so glad we took the time together to explore it...it's an amazing country!  We were enchanted by so many unexpectedly beautiful sights, foods and experiences.  My favorite cultural memory is visiting the "Museo del Oro" (Museum of Gold) in Lima.  It went far beyond gold, including many fascinating textiles that spelled out their trading history, exquisite jewelry that represented ancient symbolic warfare, and more.   Enjoy the treasures!

Striking, Soothing & Simple Art

Hope you had a great weekend!  I have started thinking about what artwork we will put where in the new house, which has been a fun little daydream.  :)

I think many of you love art as much as I do, and that means you also know that it can absolutely transform a space.  Here are a few of my favorites that span a wide range of styles.  Some of them are unexpected whereas others are pleasing and easy on the eyes.  I love it all.  I hope you find something you like as well!

Don't ask me how, but this is apparently the effect that different sound waves have on sand.
Now that's what I call Original Art.

Which type of art do you like best?  And how do you like to display it?
