Memories of Madrid

I just looked through all of our pictures from our quick trip to Madrid last weekend that I already posted about yesterday.  With all that we experienced there, it felt like a lot more than three days!  I wanted to show you many more, but unfortunately Blogger has decided otherwise.  :(  Anyway, here are a few shots to give you a better taste of what Madrid is like.  Enjoy!

I loved all of the tiled street and restaurant signs.  Notice the similarities in the pictorial of Madrid with the picture of the locals that I snapped below.

These people were all headed to the San Isidro Festival where a lot of dancing ensued as well as the beautiful fire display on the river that I posted about yesterday.
The key element that everyone was wearing was a red rose - either in this formal, traditional way or completely modern but with a red rose tucked behind the ear.
I loved it.

Beautiful ornate architecture...

They LOVE their ham.

Imagine standing in a bustling, boisterous tapas bar and
trying to order from this menu!
It was fun nonetheless.  :)
