Diving In, Part 2

Following on from yesterday's post, here is the second phase of my post on beautiful poolside settings.   So grab your pina colada (or is too early for that when you are reading this?  :)) and enjoy!

A few of you were curious where the second image was from...I found it on Joni's Cote de Texas blog post titled Americans in France. I know several of you loved that shot - me too!
Which one is your favorite?

Diving In

Hi Everyone!  Hope you  had a great long weekend.  We did, with a bit of downtime as well as a wonderful family visit.  Now, onto today's post...

Although I don't live in a pool-friendly climate, beautiful pool settings - and especially the pool house - always catch my attention.  Maybe it's the unnattainable factor (living Seattle means that is never going to happen) that's so appealing, but there is no denying they are a beautiful luxury.  In fact I have collected so many I have split it up into two posts.  Let's take a look at the first installment together:

More Lake House Beauty

Just a quick post for today, since I'm busy enjoying our long weekend!  :)  As a follow on to my Lake House post recently, here are a few more lake house settings that I think are tranquil and quite special!  Long weekends and a lake house just go hand in hand as the all-American experience in my mind.  See what you think:

My favorite style for a beach house - shingled with white trim - works equally well in a lakeside setting.

I love how this house is unassuming, yet welcoming, even in the most inclement weather.

After a great dinner, a midnight swim!

This picture captures the feeling that a lake house brings, regardless of how the actual house looks.  Don't you think?

I hope your weekend is full of fun and relaxation!

An Enchanted Garden

I don't usually do garden posts.  I have a black thumb, pulling weeds makes me very grumpy, and I am just plain not into it.  However, my sister keeps insisting that gardening is just like interior design, only with natural elements.  You still have to consider texture, color, shape, size, etc...  You know what?  She's right!

Even though it gives me a headache to do yardwork, I do love/appreciate/enjoy a beautiful garden, so here are a few elements that I find particularly magical:

Water features...

Potted fruits...
(ahem, notice that I am drawn to hot weather fruits that are impossible to grow in the Pacific NW!)
