Just One Dose Of Lovely

Just one image for today.  I love succulents and urns so much that I thought this was lovely enough to share all on its own!  Enjoy...

Decorating For Summer With Urns

I think it's safe to say that Summer is here!  Yes, I'm ignoring that the solstice is still in our future - I'm talking about the mood and the feel of Summer being upon us...do you feel it, too?

To follow on from previous posts about using urns in decor in Fall, Winter and Spring, here are my favorites for Summer:

It's Growing On Me...

Hi Everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend.  I had a very close friend visit me for the weekend and it was great to have some girl time.  We checked out a few great restaurants and bars in Seattle...it's so fun to explore our new hometown!

A while back I posted about trailing vines on homes and how much I loved it.  I have just planted some around our entry area; however, I don't have much of a green thumb, so keep your fingers crossed that it "takes".  Anyway, I thought it might be fun to look at a few more homes that have beautiful plantings that add to the architecture and style of a home:

I adore large pots next to a front door like these!

I'm not sure what to make of outdoor furniture covered with moss...it seems to keep popping up.  What do you think?

A gorgeous courtyard always makes my heart skip a beat!

All Set For Spring!

Phew!  The big parts of the move are behind us and this week will be spent enjoying the fun parts of moving in...decorating accents and finding good spots for everything - basically, nesting!  I love that we are moving in just as Spring is coming - the yard will look more and more beautiful, and everything is starting fresh right along with us in our new home.

Here are a few of my favorite (new-to-me) images that are inspiring for Spring.  I hope Spring has sprung where you are.  Enjoy!

How sweet would this be to do for all my new neighbors?

A Few Faves

Today I am simply going to post a few beautiful spaces, ideas and products that I have seen lately that I think are noteworthy for one reason or another.  I hope you enjoy them!

Subtle neutrals with vibrant pops of color. Love the rug and the pillows but I'd probably remove the leopard. Otherwise I think it's a really high energy room!

A classic, yet unique entryway:  whitewashed brick, the courtyard, tons of windows...lovely!

What a clever way to display these Sicilian prayer beads.

A really unique kitchen.  Again I'd lose the leopard (although usually I kinda like it) but I think the rest is pretty great.

My love of urns went up a notch when I saw this new take on them!

A great mix of fabrics make this such an interesting room.

There are touches of chartreuse throughout this hip European-inspired kitchen.
What a bold move that has such great impact!

Someday I'm going to learn to make pottery like this - well, at least as close as I can get to this.

I almost bought some similar lights at a flea market in Munich last year and regret not buying them now.  What do you think of them?

There is so much style packed in this space!
Notice both ways of displaying the art as well as those great greek key ottomans.
Definitely in the inspiration folders for decorating the new house.

I don't think I really need to say anything here, do I?

I'd love to hear if any of these struck a cord with you so please leave a comment!

PS:  I am so happy to report that we closed on the house today.
Move in starts Thursday - we are in the final stretch now!!!
