I'm loving these vibrant colors! Is anyone really drawn to mustard yellows and golds right now? It's really been catching my eye...

My Favorite Things Right Now
First of all, thank you SO much for the nice comments and emails about my returning to blogging. Wow - what a nice feeling! :)
Now that I'm blogging a bit more often, the design bug has gotten back into my veins. It never really left, but it's now in the forefront of my mind again! :) Anyway, here are a few things I am loving right now:

...these gorgeous obelisks. Well, the whole vignette, actually...
Functional items displayed beautifully!
This gorgeous table.
Rustic, feel-good and natural. Yummy.
More yummy. Love that lavender!
What are some of your favorite things right now?

Luxury In The Bath...
Here are a few bathrooms that I think are just lovely! Enjoy!
I love the idea of a separated (ahem) toilet, but this one strikes the perfect balance in my book, letting in light and adding style.
Don't miss that great (Hungarian?) sign above it, too. I wonder if it's the real thing from their famous bath houses... I didn't do that when we were in Hungary but I'm so glad I did in Munich and Istanbul! Don't miss it if you get the chance.
Bringing onyx to the bath as a form of art - wow!

Modern lines, with great zen like detail in that lacquered table and the built in faucets.
I'm really digging those lights too.
What a luxury to have enough privacy so that you can have a big window overlooking green space like that!
What a cool surprise for your guests to have this as the pedestal for that amazing sink!
Loving the clean, fresh feeling in this bath!
Let's not forget the original luxurious bath - in Bath, England - we have the Romans to thank for that "design". It's a fantastic destination even without the actual bath!

Neutral, Timeless Design
To me, all of these spaces look like they will hold the test of time....with lots of style, but using only neutrals and tons of texture. See what you think:
Another petrified wood stool - it looks just as good in a bathroom as it does in a living room!
(Normally I love the versatility of being able to use pieces in other rooms in the house. Although mine - weighing in at 450 pounds - isn't going anywhere else but the living room in my house!)

Random Monday Lovelies!
Hope you all had a great weekend! Here are a few random lovely decorating ideas, along with a few words of wisdom sprinkled in between, for whatever it's worth...:)
Something about this room really calls to me. At first I assumed it was a kitchen but it's more of a wet bar area. I adore the fresh lines, marble counter tops, incredible light and those great dark windows that open into the next room for serving. What an awesome space!
How gorgeous is the detailing around that front door, not to mention the iron work? I should have included this in my window boxes post but I just came across it. Sooo classy!
If/when we ever build, shelving like this will be next to the master bathroom tub for towels, apothecary jars filled with beautiful soaps, lotions and potions in pretty baskets and a few lazy reads...I like the addition of a few personal photos too.
I think I might faint if I were house hunting (somewhere in Europe?) and walked into this apartment. SO much potential here!
Yep.
Books, books and more books.
Speaking of books, I just finished reading Unbroken. Have you read it? It's a heartbreaking read, but so inspirational and educational.
It's the best book I've read in a while and would love to find something good to follow it. Any good book tips out there?
AMAZING windows. Love the greek key rug too!
This room as so much style!
A trip to Buenos Aires is rattling around in my mind...doesn't this rustic architecture look appealing?
MUST do this. I love it every time I see it! These shelves are particularly nicely styled, I thought...
A fun chair with traditional lines that throws all of that to the wind with the punch of color and refreshing pattern.
Occasionally I watch YouTube videos -- mostly because I am far too impatient to put up with commercials anymore! Recently I came across this discussion with Jada Pinkett Smith, talking about motherhood, marriage and a career. You can find it here.
One thing resonated with me: she said every morning she meditates, deciding what each person in her family needs from her that day, including what she needs for HERSELF. Regardless of what you think of her, I thought it was a great way to make sure you channel your daily energies in the directions that are the most important.
(Also,is it just me or is she getting more beautiful with age??)
Wouldn't you love to blog here? I think the computer would have to have am embossed leather cover to fit in...
Just because it's pretty. :)
I hope you enjoyed this random post!
Thanks so much for reading.

It's All In The Details
I have started a new pinboard recently where I have been collecting some lovely details that (I think) would catch any designer's eye...either for its beauty or clever functionality. Take a look at my collection so far:
Clever storage.
What detail do you love in your own home?
