This looks like a real "working kitchen" to me, with all kinds of great elements like the glass shelving, plant (although I'd prefer fresh herbs) and spices on display.
Plus, the tribal rug is FAB.

That bench is a refreshing change to the typical four stools - very clever.

The perfect layout for a very functional kitchen, I think...

There are so many great details in this kitchen but the barn door is the star!
I'm thinking this would be a pretty easy addition to a regular kitchen cupboard, as long as you have an open wall on one or both sides. Has anyone tried this?

What I like most about this kitchen is that eating area tucked into the kitchen area...so cozy for casual family meals together.
The cool elements in this kitchen work so well together without being too formal.

My current favorite in terms of counters and cabinets...very simple and classic.

What I admire in this kitchen is all of the counterspace to display artwork, plants, sculptures, etc...what a great way to expand your design space into the kitchen! It has great potential for the Kitchen Kick Starts I blogged about here.
As an aside, you may have noticed my insanely small header. :(
I redesigned it with new images yesterday and was so happy with the results. BUT, when I went to upload it, blogger gave me all kinds of problems. I'm working on it and hope to have a new and improved header soon!
