It's All In The Details

I have started a new pinboard recently where I have been collecting some lovely details that (I think) would catch any designer's eye...either for its beauty or clever functionality.  Take a look at my collection so far:

Engraved rock door stop

beautiful stone fireplace

Garden stool in the shower / Grant K. Gibson Interior Design

Zebra bench, wood panel, nailhead trim,

sink drawers not cupboards

tea cart for towel storage

door hardware | nanz

Recessed shelves: with unpainted wooden shelves

The Owen Group Design Firm on The Red Vault -- ceiling

grasscloth on the ceiling--

hydrangea wreath

railing and hardware

Two tone built-ins

no counter clutter. appliance closet with retractable doors.
Clever storage.

peonies in the kitchen...and dough bowls

What detail do you love in your own home?

It's amazing what your true taste is once you start collecting images such as these. I'm finding I like things I never noticed before. I'm coveting anything with zebra on it and love the idea of grasscloth on the ceiling.

It is truly all in the details...and you've pinned some lovely ones. I really like the towels stored on the tea cart in the bath.

I couldn't agree more that it's all in the details. Right now I am loving my little collection of red and white café au lait bowls from the Paris flea markets. They are full of terrific memories - and cherries! And they make me happy.
Enjoy this sunny Thursday, Barbara! XO

They're all stunning! That bedroom, oh and the kitchen with these gorgeous drawers... I love it all! But what detail I love the most is flowers. It makes your interior look more cozy... And it makes you happy! :-)
Much love,

I am usually much more interested in visually interesting details rather than the practical ones. However I have to say the idea of drawers under the sink is genius!
