So Rustic

I had to add a few words to my post planned for today to send out a big THANK YOU to Tina from The Enchanted Home for her interview about me yesterday.  Her introduction for my interview was so kind!  I have long admired Tina, her style and her impressive following, so to receive those complimentary words from her was incredibly touching.

Then, the follow on comments just amazed me.  I am typically very hard on myself, so seeing those comments really meant a lot to me.  Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments and for so much support for Linen Haus.  Yesterday was a very good day for me...all because of blogging!

And, if you are here today as a new subscriber, thanks so much for signing up!

**Now, without further ado, my post for today...:) **

As we head into Fall, I am definitely moving into a rustic decorating type of mood.
We are planning a lot of walks in and around Munich to admire the Fall leaves and collect branches, etc. to bring home for some nature-inspired decor.
Lots of woodsy materials in the home just feel so right for this time of year!

Wood stacked beautifully as art.  Love it.

That's the type of wood paneling I could get used to.

So simple and charming.
I can see a great activity with my kids, hunting for the perfect stones for each place in preparation for this dinner, and then having them help me set the table.

I don't think it gets any cosier than this!

How great are those mismatched stools?  The pears add a nice pop of green, too.
A burlap runner is on my list of must haves for Fall...now, where to find one...

The collection of corks and simple Fall fruits set the right tone for this laid back kitchen.

The rocks, that snuggling/reading corner, the rustic mirror - this room has it all going on.

Nothing like a roaring fire to set the mood for Fall.

A great dough bowl works so well to get the rustic look - love the baskets too.

This gorgeous rustic piece of furniture and the simple tablescape
are ideal for this room's relaxed feel.

This room is certainly more upscale and has an old world
European elegance to it, but it still does rustic masterfully well!

Quite possibly the most perfect rustic outdoor table and chairs I have seen.
The arch on the backs of the chairs and the rusted metal detailing is just great.

I think this is the ultimate rustic chandelier that I have been seeing
pop up here and there a lot these days.
I adore it!

How do you make your home feel rustic and cozy for Fall?

Hi, Barbara, I found your blog through Tina. The interview was intriguing, so I have added your blog to my daily diet of favorite design blogs. If you are looking for a burlap table runner, by the way, you can find one at Pottery Barn. Best...Victoria

I really enjoyed your interview with Tina. What a fun adventure to be able to live in Europe and know you will also be coming home one day. ;-)

I love these images! I am so ready for fall!

I was driving to work today and it was so windy, with copper leaves already been blown across the road and the fond memories of Autumn came flooding in, logs stacked by the fire and the fire roaring are my main tricks for making my home feel cozy. I just adore this post xxx

Barbara,

You're so kind! I was so happy to read your comment yesterday. I spoke from my heart yesterday and meant every word. I feel lucky for getting to know you, not only for your talent, but for your personality.

I'm having a hard time to let go of summer. Maybe because it gets pretty cold here in Canada, but seeing this beautiful post makes me feel more positive and looking forward a new season! :-)
